Prospect Wetland Center
A field-house proposal with public rooms beneath a contoured landscape, connected to outdoor wetland ponds and park operations.
A landscape and civic-building proposal for Prospect Park’s maintenance compound.
The site lies at Prospect Park West and 7th Street in Brooklyn. The proposal combines a gallery, amphitheater, community hall, offices and storage with existing maintenance functions. A shaped ground surface accommodates the enclosed program while supporting paths and planted areas above.

Section and topography
Circular and oval openings bring daylight and access into rooms beneath the landscaped surface. Sections coordinate enclosed rooms, open gathering areas and circulation across the new topography.
Early sketches combine pond excavation with backfill over the gallery. A courtyard and amphitheater form the public center; office extensions and vehicle storage retain the site’s maintenance role.
This study shows an alternative basin configuration; the final project statement describes four ponds.
Water and circulation
Four ponds form a proposed wetland gallery and reservoir connected to the nearby artificial lake. Paths, bridges and openings link the ponds to the interior program. A playground and planting garden extend the public landscape.
The circulation follows pond edges and crosses between wet and dry areas. Water storage and public access are developed together within the landscape proposal.
Seasonal atmosphere study of the wetland proposal.
Grading and operational access
The studio sequence includes grading, hydrology, topographic models and site research. Contour models and digital views test connections between rooms, glazed edges, paths and landform.
Program diagrams coordinate drainage, truck loading, parking and storage with the gallery, community hall and amphitheater. A separate INT 218 study develops the gallery’s lighting and material scheme.
Associated lighting and material study for the waterscape gallery, developed in INT 218 Color Materials Lighting.
